Mobile Integrated Data Acquisition System.
Maintaining a profitable on-site mobile fueling operation today presents a challenge for many petroleum marketers. It is an extremely labor intensive process, typically conducted by a single fueler during the most isolated times of the night. This is a process that can clearly benefit from the introduction of high technology automation.
The MIDAS system was developed to automate the on-site mobile fueling operation. It greatly reduces input errors, misfuelings, and streamlines the data collection and invoicing process.
We designed the MIDAS system to be easy to use. When the delivery driver arrives at work, he logs on to the MIDAS handheld unit by inputting his name, shift, and truck number. When he arrives at his first stop, he scans the account label for the customer. He approaches the first vehicle to fuel, and captures the vehicle ID by scanning a barcode previously applied to the unit. After fueling the vehicle, he inputs the gallons displayed on the inline meter attached to the fuel nozzle. After all vehicles are fueled, the quantities are reconciled with the weights and measures certified meter on the truck. The driver then transmits the data to a portable printer and leaves a detailed receipt and meter ticket at the customer's site (and keeps a second copy to take back to the office). He then proceeds to the next account. Upon completion of his route, all data is downloaded via a docking/charging cradle back at the office. Optional PC software allows for generation of invoices and management reports.
Our Dolphin hand-held unit provides proven reliability, and reads bar codes on vehicle to insure correct data capture. MIDAS helps prevent filling the vehicle with the wrong fuel type. Simple prompts aid the driver with the fueling procedure. All fueling data is accurately recorded and automatically transferred to your database at the end of the shift. Optional high speed portable printer available to produce receipts on site. Ample power provided by long life NIMH batteries - no need to recharge or replace batteries during the fueling shift. Because our system is totally portable, there is no need to dedicate a truck for mobile fueling.
